What a beautiful new week! We began by attending church and greeting our dear brothers and sisters in Christ. How moving it is to think back over the past month and see God's hand at work in our lives. From early detection of a problem to swift appointments and surgery to a speedy recovery. All was possible because of His goodness and the love shown to us by so many wonderful friends and family. We had daily "meals on wheels" for two weeks and constant emails, cards and phone calls that kept us forging ahead. There is no way that I could not bounce back swiftly. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. You are His hands.
We had exciting news from grandson Tyler Thompson's soccer tournament that was held in Jacksonville, FL over the weekend. His team (13 year olds) won three games leading up to the championship game that they lost 2-1 to the top team in Florida. He was MVP of his team and tops in our book. Just another incentive for CL to get better fast..so we can watch soccer games soon. Phil 1:1 I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

I will lift up my eyes to the hills, where can I find help? My help comes from the Lord the Maker of Heaven and Earth. Psalm 121: 1,2

We had a "peace of mind" doctor visit today where Dr. Gordon told us that my healing process is on track and that NO further treatment is necessary at this time. Those were beautiful words to hear- as on Sat. & Sun. my stitiches began to bleed a bit. We were not told that was normal healing, so we were concerned. Sounds like when I go back on March 3 I will be as good as new. Your prayers have been so powerful and your concern so appreciated. Please add to your prayers sister-in-law, Gretchen, and Keith's Praise Team member, Jan, who have both bravely endured chemo over the last months. Pray for their cancer cells to be eradicated. God is good.
Ps. 104:33 I will sing to the Lord throughout my life. I will make music to praise my God as long as I live.

I am so blessed. Today is the day that I salute my helper, companion, friend and husband that God put into my life over 45 years ago. He has been my strong protector, an amazing husband, a fun-to-be-around Poppa and an awesome friend...to name a few. Now I am finding out that besides all the outside chores- he can also handle the inside ones without skipping a beat. As I recuperate, he waits on me...brings me my tray of food..cleans up kitchen....washes the floors....warms up my bed buddy....runs the washer, dryer and dishwasher, etc. I have not had to lift a finger. Think I will owe him big time when this is over. Seriously, God picked out just the perfect partner for me -to love me and take care of me....and I praise and thank Him for that. We never really know what those wedding words, " in sickness and in health," really mean until you live it. Again, I am SO blessed.
Phil 4:19 My God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

Today our sweet granddaughter Lauren's 4th birthday is being celebrated in TX. In FL we are celebrating my homecoming. Julie says she is turning the blog back over to me. What a blessing she was to fill you in when I was under the weather. I was awake at 6:30 am with the news from my nurse that I could probably go home. By 12:00 noon we were picking up prescriptions. Shortly after, Gary and I collapsed with a great nap. Julie just left after feeding us a delicious meal. On my emails the first one was from LHM declaring, "this is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." It had very special meaning to us. Klaus further stated as great as these causes for celebration are, they are nothing compared to the celebration taking place in peoples' hearts when they realize the crucified Christ is with them through all the changing seasons of the year. As we think back over the last few days our awesome God's presence is so apparent...in my healing and in all the messages and visits from our family and special friends. The love we feel from your prayers is overwhelming and has carried us through a very rough spot. A recent devotion stated that the more you think about God's goodness, the less you'll think about your worries. So remember Phil 4:6 Be anxious for nothing but let your requests be made known to God.
Mom should be able to come home today . . . Dad called & they hope to be out of the hospital by afternoon. Mom can't wait to get home & read her emails, cards, & blog. She was able to eat a little more at breakfast this morning ~ she even took a walk down the hallway.

It was a wonderful time of worship at church this morning ~ Steve Brown preached. If mom was there, she would have cried through all the songs . . . "Your Grace is Enough," "Praise to the Lord the Almighty," "He Knows My Name," and "How Deep the Father's Love For Us." It was a service of worship . . . so much to be thankful for . . . All glory to the Father!
