Thursday November 18, 2010
My journey began in January and we carried the words in Joshua 1:9 on our heart..."Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." A wonderful promise to hold on to for the past 11 months. November 5 marked my last radiation treatment. God willing...my cancer journey is over. He put so many special people in my life through it all which included my TERRIFIC husband, family, friends, doctors, nurses, technicians, and other patients. For this we are thankful . I celebrated with a trip to the mall with my family to get my ears pierced for the first time in all my years. Fun! At Ascension we had a wonderful jubilee banquet with over 300 attending. Last Sunday we were able to rekindle our friendship with our All Saints family in Blairsville, GA. Were able to come to the mountains for several weeks. Family and friends will join us during this time. We look forward to each visit. Tyler's soccer team will travel to NC for a soccer tournament this weekend. Joe and Sam had terrific football seasons with Sam being named the defensive player of the year. Can't wait to hear Lauren read her books to me and spend time with the rest of her family. Terri's varsity basketball season is just beginning and Tyler made the freshman team. Anxious to have Kathy's Atlanta family join us at cabin and for Kara to fly home for Christmas. We have been blessed with beautiful fall weather here in Blue Ridge as we visit with our new neighbors. Am requesting prayers for my radiation friends Laura, Christine,Patricia, Linda as they continue to deal with their struggles; for Marion's great lab report; for all those travelling over the holidays; and thanksgiving to God for His presence in my life. As IThess. 5:18 says, "Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." We send our love and hugs to each of you, Carol Lynn and Gary
